Dr Teo Ho Pin

Dr Teo Ho Pin has over 30 years of experience in Township Management and Community Development in Singapore. He has held various key positions in both the public and private sectors in the Real Estate and Construction industry. At present, he is the Non-executive Chairman of Singapore Stock Exchange publicly listed firms namely: Tiong Seng Holdings Limited (Building Construction, Engineering and Property Development) and King Wan Corporation Limited (Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Property Development & Investment and Workers' Dormitory Operations). He also holds Independent Directorship positions in 2 other publicly listed firms namely: Enviro-hub Holdings Limited and ISOTEAM Limited.

Dr Teo is the Senior Advisor to Surbana Technologies Private Limited which provides IT services to support township management and facilities management. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Department of the Built Environment at the National University of Singapore. Dr Teo is the Patron of Singapore International Facility Management Association and Senior Adviser to Singapore Environment Council.

Prior to his present appointments, Dr Teo was the Mayor of the North West District of Singapore (2001 to 2020), and the Member of Parliament for the Bukit Panjang Constituency (1996 to 2020). He was a legislator for 23 years since 1996 and was the Chairman for Government Parliamentary Committees for National Development, Environment & Water Resources, Home Affairs and Law. He was also the Chairman of Holland-Bukit Panjang Town Council (50,000 public housing flats and commercial shops), and the Co-ordinating Chairman for 15 towns (1 million public housing flats) in Singapore.

As Mayor, he was responsible for community development works for North West district comprising 900,000 residents living in both private and public housing estates. His key duties include community bonding, promoting healthy lifestyle and providing social support for lifelong learning and employability. As the Town Council Co-ordinating Chairman, he was instrumental in spearheading various township management initiatives such as Dashboard management systems, Customer service management, Feedback and complaint management, Adoption of smart technologies and green initiatives to promote smart and green living in Singapore. Dr Teo graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Science degree (Building) and pursued his Masters and Doctorate degrees (Project Management) at Heriot-Watt University, UK.
